$1,862 to Go!

When I decided to produce this event, I wanted to do more than just get people to support Brooklyn's Vegetarian Restaurants. I also wanted to show the connection we all have with our food, from farm to table. Many of the restaurants featured shop the farmer's market's in their neighborhoods for the produce they serve; the same farmer's market's many of this blog's readers patronize as well.

This demonstrates a commitment and a consciousness to our food choices-where they come from, what methods farmers use to, and the difference locally grown food has on our entire well-being.

More importantly, I wanted to connect Brooklyn Goes Veg! to the organizations that are reaching out to communities who have limited access to health-supportive foods and fresh produce. These organizations are teaching the communities they serve-with special attention given to youth-that they can and do have a choice when it comes to selecting the best foods for optimum health.

So, I am acknowledging these organizations by sharing the proceeds of the Raffle with them.

I Invite you to check out the organizations for yourselves, to learn more about their programs and services.
