Support Independent Natural Foods Stores
Pumpkin's Organic Market donated two $25 dollar gift certificates to their Park Slope store.
They kinda have a "healthy bodega" feel going on, since they're on the corner of the avenue. It's also very "unmarket"-like, as the lighting is dim, the colors earthy, and almost country, perhaps the way Brooklyn used to be when Park Slope was farmland.
I like it.
One of the G.C.'s is being raffled off in the $1 raffle(where you can enter online or buy a ticket at Jill's Cafe) and the other I'm giving away to one of you who writes a review.
I'm also throwing in a bag from ReusableBags.com (also a sponsor), as Pumpkin's encourages shoppers to bring their own bags when they shop. What's more, I'll even include a shopping tour from yours truly.
Jill's is worth stopping by for the $20 prix-fixe alone, as it's both hard to get a raw food meal that's both affordable and tasty, as folks who've been to Pure Food & WIne and Quintessence can attest.

Has Anyone Tried VeggieBrothers.com yet?
This week seems to have gone by so fast and I haven't had a chance to order anything, so I'm going to place an order shortly.
If you've tried them, let me know by posting comment here.
Later on I'll share my experience at Red Bamboo Brooklyn (good!) and my issue with their "Veal Marsala" dish (bad!).
Jason & Kelvin, if you're reading this BOOOO!!!!

Help Brooklyn Goes Veg! Reach Its Vita-Mix Raffle Goal!
I have a brand-new white Vita-Mix 5000 blender waiting for a lucky winner.
The Vita-Mix 5000, valued at $399, is a powerhouse of blenders. Much more than for smoothies, daiquiries, and shakes, the Vita-Mix can blend whole fruits and vegetables, including potatoes, carrots, broccoli, and other dense vegetables that are tough to break down in their raw state.
With the Vita-Mix Blender, you can make everything mentioned above, plus soups, ice cream, baby food, dips, salsa, and whatever else you can think of!
Ain't bad for $10 bucks.
20 more tickets to go!
Click here to purchase tickets online.
You can also purchase tickets at Jill's Cafe, The Lucky Cat, The V-Spot Cafe (after 7pm tonite) and Elaa Juice Bar (on Saturday).
The Drawing will be held on Sunday at 2pm at Jill's Cafe.
You do not have to be present to win.
